Well we presented our first scholarship today. Moose did the honors as our President. He, Ron and I represented the class. By the way those who met the Assistant principal Lisa Sanders, she was so excited to see us that Mike and I got hugs. She thanked us for following up on what we said. It was evident again how much she cares for the students and how much they love her.

Morgan is not sneering at Mike’s hug. Her face is partially
paralyzed from a childhood disease.

The whole gang. By the way Mike’s expression is because Ron is goosing him with his right hand.

And now the big coincidence…… Morgan also received the Carolyn Cox Award for Service because of
all of her involvement in school activities etc.

I’ll let Mike and Ron chime in about the day and the experience. Thanks again Class of 68, we done good
Today.

It was great to see such an enthusiastic group of young people with an administration that truly cares about them. When the award was presented for most academic improvement, Assistant Principal Sanders shed a few tears. There were some very nice awards from colleges, the Army and Marines, and other groups. But there was only one Hillwood class to step up and award a scholarship, and that was us. The committee did an outstanding job of selecting the first recipient. The Mikes did a super job of presenting the award and preserving the moment in pictures. I showed up because I was in the neighborhood. It was time well spent. For all of you that made the first scholarship award possible, my sincere thanks.

Let's make sure that this continues for a long time. And for the rest of you that missed it, save the date for 2010!

Ron

P.S. I didn't goose the Moose! Do you think he might have been blinded by the reflection of someone's extended forehead (or perhaps his halo)?

Found BANDY!

Geeeeez, you'd think it was brain surgery, but nope, it's Rheumatology :)==I talked with Ross's wife today having found him with a Google search that jarred my old brain cells into remembering his given first name, Preston. Yay!

LInk to school profile

Hey. Noodling around I happened on a school profile containing information I never knew. Did I know the school was built in 1959? I don't think I did. Anyway, here it is.
